biography

A classical composer gone rogue- Taylor Ash’s songwriting is all about telling stories. From a young age, she felt compelled by certain tales- some her own, some her friends’, and some stories that had yet to be told. She started writing music at 11, using her skills as a classical pianist and vocalist to craft lyrics and melodies. She then continued to pursue a music career in the classical realm at Westminster Choir College. While at school, Taylor mostly composed classically, but still wrote pop, folk and rock music on the side. In 2015, she released her first EP Beautiful Words, and graduated with a degree in Musical Composition. Since then, she has gone on to use her classical knowledge to continue her work in the more contemporary side of the music industry.

Taylor released her debut album on March 25th, 2022 in which she blends indie pop rock with undertones of film score and musical theater music. In this concept album, she recounts the tale of hitting rock bottom, and then finding your way back to healing in 13 evocative and genre bending tracks. You can listen to the entire album now on any streaming platform!

While she focuses on her career in the industry, Taylor also continues to compose classically and commercially. Her most recent work includes theme and credit music for the Willing & Fable podcast. She also has an InstagramTV series Dress-up Covers where she performs cover songs and transforms into the artist of the song. She also has been an active user of TikTok, where she creates comical skits about the inner working of a creative mind, shows behind the scenes of her work and provides tips and advice about producing (check it out @taylorashmusic, on all social platforms).

Stay tuned for Taylor’s debut album show sometimes in June 2022! In the meantime, check out the gigs tab to see where she’s playing next.
