biography

A classical composer gone rogue- Taylor Ash’s songwriting is all about telling stories. From a young age, she felt compelled by certain tales- some her own, some her friends’, and some stories that had yet to be told. She started writing music at 11, using her skills as a classical pianist and vocalist to craft lyrics and melodies. She then continued to pursue a music career in the classical realm at Westminster Choir College. While at school, Taylor mostly composed classically, but still wrote pop, folk and rock music on the side. In 2015, she released her first EP Beautiful Words, and graduated with a degree in Musical Composition. Since then, she has gone on to use her classical knowledge to continue her work in the more contemporary side of the music industry.

After recovering from an autoimmune illness that caused her to lose her voice in 2017, Taylor released her latest single Void– a tale recounting the struggles of facing your mortality and dealing with the anxiety that ensues- in July of 2020. She plans to release her first full length album Vignettes in early 2021.

While she focuses on her career, Taylor also continues to compose classically and commercially. Her most recent work includes theme and credit music for the Willing & Fable podcast. She also has an InstagramTV series Dress-up Covers where she performs cover songs and transforms into the artist of the song.

2020 has been trying year for all musicians, and Taylor is looking forward to playing shows to crowds of people again, once it is safe to do so. She hopes to meet you all at one of these events! If you wish to book any one of Taylor’s services please use the contact form and she will get back to you as soon as possible!
